Lines of Vision

There is an exhibition on in the National Gallery at the moment called Lines of Vision which brings the world of Art and Literature together. Poets and writers picked their favourite paintings from the gallery and contributed original writing to compliment it. I attended a talk from some of those poets and was inspired creatively by the following comments from them:

* use of poetry to add magic, music, spirit, connection, beat and lyricism to the world of words

* it is about how things make you feel

* art and poetry that connects to something within us

* use of nature, scripture and art to “see through” to “shorten the distance between us and God

* poetry is “moments of inspiration”

* no need to fear change as being alive means change – only other alternative to avoid change is death
